Has anyone else had an issue where the 4K from your iPhone 6S or SE completely locks up iMovie? I have a mid-2014 Mac 15" with decent specs (benchmarks from Geekbench here) but when I go to edit or try to play the MOV file from my iPhone, I just get the spinning pinwheel and the entire program freezes up, requiring a force quit.
I tried converting my 2 minute MOV file (550MB) to MP4 (215MB) and the results are a little better in that trying to play the MOV file in Finder by pressing space, no longer freezes Finder. But it's still SUPER slow. My Mac handles 1080p 30fps and 60fps video fine. So what's the deal? Is there some sort of software issue or is my Mac just not powerful enough?
