Oh, nice. How bout the quad-core processor app for only $199.99. Turns any iphone into a quad core processor phone.

Please stop believing such ********. You car can't drive when you don't have gas in your tank right?
iPhones cameras can't record in 4k because the camera (hardware) can't shoot at 4k.

It says on the page that the video is upscaled to 4K (from 3K?). But that's really something you could do yourself.

Seems like nice app with the price drop but I still can't see what's better in that than on MoviePro or Ultrakam Pro which both cost under $10. Of course that one takes every frame as photo which might make difference. But can't believe the difference until I see it myself.

Price drop to $10 and I'll buy it just to test it. Until that there's no chance.

iPHONE 5S REQUIRED FOR 24FPS MOTION VIDEO
Although Vizzywig 8xHD is compatible with devices that have 8MP cameras, we recommend an iPhone 5s for best results in order to capture the highest possible frame rate of 24 frames per second. Most devices including the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are limited 10 frames per second as of iOS 8.1. The video is still amazing but the motion is not as smooth.
eh?

Nigerian Prince brought it over with him when he did his banking.

It's on the Internet, it must be true!

Send me $29.95 and I will tell you.

Up-scaling I'm assuming.

How is this recording in 4K? I thought 4K needs more than 8MP?

the app is taking a series of photos at 8MP and stitching them into a 4k video.

Noticed that, but there's still a lot of unanswered questions which might make the poor video guys hesitate. Like what's the maximum bitrate, does it really take 4,3GB space per minute (or do they mean 3Mb not MB), does the quality drop after exporting the video as 4K, does it produce better quality than its 10 times cheaper competitioners, why iPhone 6 / 6 Plus is limited to 10fps, how much the quality drops when converted from still images to video etc..

I'm almost excited about this app but these questions and that app's marketing makes me hesitate a lot.

Edit: Kinda funny how they compare the app's abilities to the front-facing camera.

Even if it did take choppy ass video with a series of 8mp camera shots at 10 fps, 4k is 8.3 mp. So still fail.

Yeah it's a limitation of iOS 8, not the hardware.

ProCam 2 shoots "4K" with 25 fps (they claim it could record 30fps too) on iOS 8.1. And it shoots the video in motion jpeg format with average of 80mbps. Maybe there's the big difference then with the real resolutions as Vizzywig shoots 8mp video and ProCam 2 6mp video. Maybe it will change by time. We'll see.

Is this a joke? Just buy an android if you want to record in 4k

4K shot with Android devices is a perfect example of low quality 4K. Most of the devices capable of that shares the same bitrate than iPhone 6's 1080p in video. And with apps worth less than $5 you can double that bitrate (and even pixels) on iPhone.

Of course the 4K shot with any Android devices looks nice overall, but there's no real difference to Full HD except it has a lot more artifacts caused by (too) low bitrate/high compression. Might be a bit better on close-ups though.

The app shoots the video with resolution worth 8mp and then upscales it to 4K. Or it should do.
