I'm (hopefully) going to be getting my iPhone 6 on Friday, and since there's not JB for iOS 8 I'll obviously be sticking with stock iOS 8. My question is based around the iTunes backup/restore process.

Obviously, the process of setting up my new phone would be much simpler by using the backup from my 4S, however, I have a couple of questions:

1. Will the backup being a JB backup have any influence on the new device? I've only got a 16GB 4S so I've run tools, such as iCleaner, to clear out space on my device. Hopefully that won't change/break anything.

2. Like most other people, my "other" section is large-ish, at around 2GB. I feel like some of this is JB data, and some of it just junk. Will I gain much by doing a fresh iOS install on the new device, rather than from a backup?

3. I mainly want my texts transferring, and most other things will be on iCloud so I shouldn't need them. I feel my best bet is to transfer my texts from my old phone to my new one, and do a fresh install on the new device. Is there a piece of software that'll let me transfer text on to my device? I can only find extracting texts from a backup.
