I'm seriously struggling here. Here's my story:

Had an iPhone 4. Everything was great. My music synced flawlessly, and I had been backing up to iCloud for a while.
Yesterday I got an iPhone 4S. I set it up cord free, and restored from my iPhone 4's iCloud backup. After everything was done, I plugged it into my MacBook so I could sync my music. After that was done, I noticed the song count on my 4S was several hundred songs short of what it should be. Upon further investigation, it looked like all my iTunes purchased music wasn't getting synced.

If I go to iTunes>Purchased on my phone, I can see all the songs sitting there available to be downloaded from the cloud. But even if I download them like that, my MacBook still has no control over them. No matter what I've tried, iTunes is refusing to put my purchased music onto my 4S. This is extremely frustrating...what can I do?

I'm experiencing a similar issue - sounds like a software problem, hopefully it will be fixed in an update.

Have you tried downloading them from the purchased list on iTunes on your phone?
