Can I ask is there any performance difference with Sidecar between a 4th Gen iPad Pro and the new 5th Gen iPad Pro?

I didn’t notice any. What are the kind of improvement that you are expecting regarding Sidecar?

Hi there; sorry I should have been clearer; I guess I was just checking if there was any improvement; picked up a MacBook Air M1 and been considering picking up a 2020 iPad to use alongside (can't justify the 5th Gen) but wondered if I'd be compromising on Sidecar performance which seems a nice thing to have (and saves me carrying a USB-C portable monitor)

Okay I see! I use a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro and a 2021 iPad Pro, so I can’t say for the M1 Mac, but Sidecar is running very smoothly for me, both wired or wireless. I don’t think you’ll have any problem on your M1 Mac for Sidecar, as the processor is more optimized for that kind of integration with other Apple devices.

I think you’ll be fine, didn’t really notice a difference between my 2020 pro and ancient air3 when hooked up to a MacBook Air. It’s basically just streaming video (and returning inputs I guess), so not massively taxing of the ipad hardware.
