Ok so the first 3 ipads I had all had some sort of screen issue, granted the 3rd one didnt have as much an issue but it had some slight light bleed at the top which was distracting while on black screens especialy while watching youtube videos.

(I must have seemed like a right pest at the store... 3 replacements....but I just wanted the perfect screen)

Now that I have the 3rd replacement its absolutely outstanding! no light bleed, no yellowing, no funny pixels, no dust under the screen.

I am extremely happy :D

however theres one thing bugging me... next week I have a hiring event at the apple store... I hope they dont notice me and think "theres that guy who wanted his iPad replaced 3 times!"

Because I probably seem like a awkward customer....

The yellowing on the bottom portion of my screen irritates me as well... But, I think I can live with it... It isn't a huge deal.

Congrats on the perfect iPad, though!

Congrats!

Mine was perfect, but started freezing when playing videos. The replacement from the Apple store turned out to have a perrfect screen and no other issues.

Mine is fine, thankfully. No problems whatsoever. This has been my most flaw-free tech purchase next to my 15 in uMBP I just got. And the new iPod Touch. Hmmm, Apple is getting a lot of my money I realize...

I'm sure if I looked hard enough my iPad would have a yellowing, light bleeding screen with dust underneath it and my speakers would hiss when I put my ear right next to it and listened.

I actually hope they DO notice you and don't give you a job. How anal are you that you return an ipad 3 times because it's not perfect?

To the OP:
Can you tell, or have you been informed, if the replacement iPad is in fact new or an actual refurb?

I know we go through this with iPhone's, but I really don't want to give up my iPad (with weak wifi) for a refurb with different problems. I know refurbs are supposed to be "like new" but in my experience many of other issues that apple might not have caught. So anybody have a clue?

What a prick, actually you don't know what happens to my 1st 2 so lay off your crap.

My 1st 2 had a really odd problem that after they ran out of charge then after being recharged the ipads screens turned yellow and the brightness went further than there normal maximum. The genious notised this right away. One of them had dust trapped under the screen too. When you pay £600 for a device it should be better than that. My cheap netbook had a better screen than them, and thats not right.

So go to some other forum if you want to be a tosser, your not wanted here.

To the other guys, I got brand new replacements not refurb or service models.

I got a replacement on my first iPad due to a real bright pixel.
Lost my screen protector due to the replacement.

Got my second and thought it was all good, till I was about to install my new screen protector and backing.

Opened up Sketch Book Pro to double check the screen, and wham. Got a dead rainbow pixel about an inch above the home button to the right.

Its only really noticeable on a white screen tho, but its a eye catcher. Gonna call tech support and see what they say.

The Dodo bar at my LAS recognized my first iPad's problem, but refused to replace it, and ran the low stock/it has to have more than 1 pixel game on me. The bad pixel was showing through apps and the whole 9.

I had to cool down and call tech support. They got me squared away.
So I think i'll skip the G** Bar this time and call tech support again since its their replacement..

Did it come from the brown boxes? (or were you still within your 14 days)
Just curious what tipped you off that they were new as I'm still contemplating a replacement.

No brown boxes my friend, all in the brand new packaging. I really was impressed with them, swapped 3 iPads for me because I wasnt happy with the screen.

Wow. That's cool. And you were beyond your 14 days? Did you go through the 3 ipads while still in-store? :)
