hi all,
Im starting to think Im just plain unlucky because Im on my 4th MBP,
Just got it today, 1st thing I notice is that the there were two pieces of tape used to hold the flap of the box down.....ok..."thats a little suspicious considering the first piece is cut apart"...but I figured its possible that whoever was packing the box just forgot to put some stuff in the first time he/she packed it and he/she didn't want to risk damaging the box by pealing off the sticker...kinda stupid in my mind since I tried to peal the stickers off and nothing happened to the box, but no big deal. Take it out, the lid that holds the LCD is obviously warped! Took it back, was told this is normal, they refused my request to either repair or exchange. I just decided I would try to learn to live with it.

I've been fairly busy today and I was only just able to power it on for the first time 10 min ago.As it booted up it sounded very strange, there was this horrible grinding sound in addition to the normal superdrive and startup sound that occurs when you power it up! Did the "genius" at my store give me a refurb???

Im planning on taking it in tomorrow, cause Im quite certain that its not a normal sound. is it worth taking in? Am I gonna get refused a replacement because of my first three computers? Is this sound actually normal and my first three just happened to not have the grind?

Since this would be your 5th replacement, be firm and persistent (but nice, don't get angry/ to aggressive) and request a BRAND NEW MBP.
