I have an iphone 4S which is currently in 5.0.1 OS.
I have saved blob for OS 5.1.1 for this particular iphone 4s of mine.

Question: Can I actually upgrade from 5.0.1 which I am currently on, to 5.1.1 which shsh blob I actually have?

I tried to follow post in redmondpie:
http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-re...-touch-from-ios-5.x-to-ios-5.x-using-redsn0w/

However, my phone turned out to be stuck in "Soft dfu-mode", and I can't get it out of it.
Any advise is much appreciated.

thanks in advance...

I think you can do this with redsn0ws re-restore utility. Do you have BOTH 5.0.1 and 5.1.1 blobs?

Read items #1 and #2 at the link provided above:
  • Both the 5.0.1 and 5.1.1 SHSH are required
  • You cannot have a device where the 5.0.1 firmware was factory fresh or an OTA update.

Hi, thanks.
When you mean factory fresh, does it mean I can't have 5.0.1 as original IOS that comes with the phone when I bought it from apple?
