Hey guys, I recently updated my iPhone from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 using redsn0w + blobs + an ipsw, but now I am noticing the phone takes noticably longer to boot when completely shutdown....On 5.0.1, it used to take under 30 seconds (fully loaded) but now, it takes up to 2 minutes to boot up (half empty).

Is this to be expected and why?

That is expected because of how the jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1 works.

Thanks for the reply! Would you mind explaining further? I couldn't find more info as to why that is the case.....I know it's not a huge deal because I don't cold boot my iPhone often, but it was an unanticipated downside over my 5.0.1 jailbreak :(

It is because the jailbreak must "massage" out the memory location of the kernel so that it can be patched out. The raccoon binary also needs to be broken a few times before it will launch as it needs to.

Was hoping for a more technical explaination haha, but I get the point :) Doesn't sound as clean as the JB for 5.0.1 in function, but I guess it still does the trick so...
