5.1 audio mac mini

I am setting up a mac mini for a HTPC. I would like to get 5.1 out of it. I know the mini supports is but I am unsure of the cable required. I purchased a cheap adaptor from Amazon but it didn't work. I am in the UK so if anyone knows of a good supplier over here that would be great, thanks.

I think your speakers would need a dolby decoder and you have to connect to them using an optical cable - macs have the 1/8inch style one

you need a mini-Toslink to Toslink cable

as the previous poster said, you need a stereo with an optical input.

Looks good to me. Yeah I have a Sony Surround Sound Home Theater that runs off my Sky HD and used to run my AppleTV but Plex has won over!

Just ordered one of these, should do the trick nicely.
