Hi guys,

I’ve had a strange new behaviour start up on my 5,1 (I’m running Mojave and Open-Core).

Every few minutes I get a brief lagging/stuttering. The mouse pointer stops moving for a couple of seconds and then I get a little twitch on my monitors and everything starts working normally again.

These stuttering glitches never last more than a couple of seconds, but they’re happening constantly, so are really starting to get on my nerves.

I’m using a wired mouse.

At first I thought maybe it was the mouse itself glitching out, but I’ve tried alternatives and it still keeps happening. And the fact that the monitors are showing a brief glitch makes me suspect it’s something deeper.

Has anyone encountered anything like this before? Any suggestions?

Cheers

Install DriveDX and check if one of your drives is locking the bus while waiting for retries or SATA drives dying or even NVMe overheating cause what you are calling stuttering. Don't need to be your main drive, any drives installed could be causing this.

DriveDX is reporting everything as healthy.

Which is the latest security update?

If I go to Software Update it currently says that the following updates are available for my mac:
- Security Update 2020-004 10.14.6
- Safari 13.1.2

I assume that means I don't have the latest update installed (I currently have SIP disabled)?
