Thank you for replying in my previous thread about buying new processors. Since they will be arriving soon, what should I do to prepare?
This is worrying me (http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...-2010-westmere-how-to-upgrade-processors.html) In that article it says that the 2010-12 versions are ALSO de-lidded? I was under the impression that the 2010 uses a spring loaded system that locks LIDDED processors in?
Can I just install my x5677's into my 2010 as I would a normal pc, or do I have to use washers and spacers?

EDIT: I have articlean and arctic silver 5 ready, my friend will be doing the processor swap as he does it for a job and I don't trust myself with hardware anymore.
