So I freshly installed a copy of windows 10 without any bootcamp drivers using a gt120 on my 5.1 6core 32gb unflashed sapphire rx 580 and have since removed the gt120 and did all the windows updates After that i installed games like GTA 5, war zone and madden 23 all of which won't launch, the games say they are running for about 30 seconds but nothing ever pops up and all of sudden it will just say stop. I tried installing the latest directX and reinstalling windows 10. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the hardware. The only game I can get to launch was a very old NBA 2k18 and it played well. so I'm wondering what is going on?

Use DDU to uninstall all GPU driver first. Then download and re-install the latest AMD driver.

If still doesn't work, and the RX580 is a used card (which may be flashed for mining before), then re-flash it with the factory ROM.

Thank you!, i had a hunch it had something to do with what you had listed above.

There are few things can go wrong.

e.g. When you installed Windows with GT120, Windows will install the required Nvidia driver for you. Then further switch the GPU to an AMD RX580. However, Nvidia and AMD driver often can't co-exist. Windows may says nothing, but just doesn't work correctly.

So, the 1st thing to try now is to uninstall all GPU drivers by using DDU. Then re-install a newly download latest AMD driver for the RX580.

After using DDU and installing subsequently the official Nvidia drivers the GTX Titan and RX-580 peacefully coexist in Windows 10.

so after doing ddu on both the graphics amd and nvidia with only the rx580 installed. and after verifying the games integrity my games still do not launch.
how do i know if i have a mining bios because i did get my graphics used on amazon for under $100 so i suspect it was used for such thing.

Fix 4: Verify the Integrity of Game Files

As mentioned before, perhaps Steam game won’t launch due to damaged game files. If this is applicable to your case, you can fix the issue simply by verify the integrity of game files in Steam. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Go to Steam LIBRARY.

Step 2: Right-click the problematic game and select Properties.

Step 3: In Local Files tab, click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES and wait for the validation to complete.

verify integrity of game files

If you are talking about Warzone 2.0 (2022), the game requires AVX instructions to run, which the Xeon in the 5,1 does not have. I assume it's the same thing with Madden 23, since Madden 22 requires AVX iirc.

I thought about that as well. However, he also mentioned GTA V, which I 100% sure can run on the cMP (because I played though this whole game on my cMP in Windows).

Unless there was an update for GTA V which makes it also need AVX (after I finished the game). Otherwise, it should work.
