I've just received my first MacBook Pro - my first Apple product. I have existing 5.1 speakers, which connect to my Windows desktop computer via three small jacks.

My question is simple: how can I plug these speakers into the MacBook Pro while maintaining full 5.1 audio?

The audio output jack of the MacBook is only stereo, and unlike previous models it does not carry a digital signal. That leaves only USB (I do not want to use Bluetooth as I want to limit the radiation I am exposed to). I also do not want to spend £hundreds on an audio interface.

Is there a simple USB to 5.1 small jacks converter I can use, please, or any other potential solution?
 
I think I've answered my own question, which actually happens a lot within minutes of posting for help (after looking for days)! I just bought this audio converter, which is no longer manufactured but looks promising:
