5 days since the M4 Mac Mini launched. How has the power button impacted your life?

10+ times, because I keep encountering discussions online on wether it is important or not.
I plan to get one, and I am pretty sure the number of times i will be pressing that button a year can be counted on one hand.

I've pressed it once. When I first turned it on.
I'm sure all the folks who were being dramatic and making a big deal out of it have pressed it a total of one time lol.
I was forced to press it 38 times over a 8 hour period, at least what felt like an 8 hour period, but thankfully my daughter woke me up and asked what was wrong, she said I was screaming in my sleep. That’s a nightmare I’ll not soon forget.
Great marketing move by Apple, so that the whole tech world talks about the Mac Mini.

I've been troubleshooting some really old backup drives, some of which that seem not to like this machine so much. They take a long time to mount or unmount, and sometimes don't unmount at all. When that happens I shut down the machine and unplug the drive, and then I turn the Mac back on.
Because the Mac mini sits underneath the monitor, it means raising up the monitor (which fortunately is easily height adjustable) and then lifting the Mac mini to turn it on. It's annoying, but not a huge deal in the greater scheme of things. I've done this about a half dozen times now in the last three days.

Impact: low. Quality design? Hell no. Power button placement is asinine.
I pressed it and then my dog died, wife left me, car wouldn’t start and house fell into a sinkhole. And this was while I was still in the Apple Store.
In all seriousness, mine hasn’t arrived yet but I can be fairly confident it will be pressed once every few months. If that. This is a complete non-issue. Don’t get me wrong; Apple could DEFINITELY have put the button on the side.

I wouldn’t want to live a life where power button of a device I purchased impacts my life.
That's how I feel. It's not like it will impact me on a daily or even monthly basis, but it's just a dumb move. Especially when you consider that the button is already on a daughter board that could be located anywhere.

- twice to setup my son's touchID
- Once accidentally when I was picking it up to move it
Once for initial power up. Twice for Touch ID. Reminds me of my 1987 Saab 900S with the ignition key slot in between the seats. I got used to it. The world did not end.
For this question to provide any insight, it'd need to be split in two:
How often do those of you that use it as a standalone device have to hard boot it?

How often do those of you that use it networked & with external drives have to hard boot it?

I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro. I find the Power Button strangely located on the M4 Pro, but it wouldn't stop me from buying one. It has so many other benefits, I don't have the good words for it but I'll use the vocabulary I have : it's quite simply put an astounding machine.
The only thing that annoys me : macOS / Xcode isn't very stable for me. Last week I had to hard shutdown and reboot 4 times the same day. This would frustrate me even more. Other than that? My Mac is on Sleep Mode all the time and that's it.

I've scheduled an emergency 3-hour session with my therapist to discuss how the power button placement will effect my mental health.

I pressed it once, it was deeply arduous, I had to collapse onto my fainting couch afterwards with a touch of the vapors
