"As the Mac market share grows, game publishers are beginning to realize that it's worth it to spend the extra money developing Mac versions of their games. All of the games mentioned in this article will run native in the Mac OS when they are released. These 5 games do not necessarily constitute enough of a reason to forsake your beloved PCs, but they are reason enough to have your gaming itch satisfied if you are a current Mac owner and don't want to dual boot!"

i knew wow was coming, But i am glad to see cod4 ( now i don't have to buy the pc one yea!!!!!) I really don't know If i want SC2, I know its a big deal but the game has been and always be just an imatation of C and C. Besides Red alert 2 has all ready stole best rts ever title anyways. but I might try the demo when it comes. ( now if they got red alert 3 I would be happy but sad to see westwood dead ; ( )

What I have heard so far, Spore will use Cider.. so it is not native on Mac OS X.

Starcraft is not an imitation of Command and Conquer. Starcraft plays very differently from Command and Conquer. What gave you that bizarre idea?

no offense or anything, but your post makes it sound like you sort of... have no idea at ALL what you're talking about.

Dumb article.

First, the Mac has always received ports of some of the bigger pc games. So not really news here in terms of an indication that publishers are finding it worthwhile now to make games for the Mac. Aspyr is doing the ports as usual. It will probably mean fairly poor support.

Second, Blizzard has for awhile now released native Mac versions of its games right alongside the pc versions on the same disc. It's great, but hardly a change in the Mac gaming scene.

The only change in the Mac gaming scene is EA is now releasing some its games on the Mac alongside the pc versions. And that comes with a big asterisk because their games will all run through Cider on the Mac which roughly translates to "crappy performance and poor support."

Couple this with the fact that most Macs have poor gaming video cards in them and Mac gaming is mostly still dead except for Blizzard's games which usually have fairly modest system requirements and games 2 or 3 years old minimum.

Well you may have just talked me into removing windows from my machine.

I have to agree with most of the whining that games that run with Cider shouldn't be considered OS X ports. It'd be like considering games running under Codeweavers to be OS X ports. There is a significant slowdown in that "translation" layer.
