I have a 2017 10.5" 256 GB ipad pro and it's end of life for iOS . I tried to use it for video editing but I found that storage was an issue, and so was backing up the data externally, and I preferred my mac. Fast forward to today, the new iPad Pro M4 is really fast and it has features that I would want, such as the Final Cut Camera app, OLED screen, new apple pencil, thunderbolt 4 speeds, and vertical camera position. I don't do any video or editing now, but wondering if someone who has done video editing and if 512 GB would be enough. I guess enough to me is having 5-10 video edits on the machine and offloading older videos externally. I know you can attach an external drive and it appears that the speed would be fine but I have no experience if this would be a pain or not to store the video to the external drive. On paper things look like they will work but in practice, I have no idea.

Works for me using Lumafusion - 512GB M1 12.9.
