Hey,

Guys, do you think it is worth going for the 1 TB model when it comes to music production?

I'm just afraid 1 TB could become outdated in the near future?

I don't understand your premise - why would the 1TB become "outdated"? At least when compared to 512GB??

16/1TB is the minimum I’d consider. If you can get 2TB get it.
I have the 16/TB Mac Mini running Pro Tools 2020.12 and Logic Pro 10.6.1 with a UA Apollo Twin MKII I/O and it’s been great.

I wouldn't use the sessions on the system drive and solely install apps and Plugins there, keep the sessions on an external 2 TB 970 Evo Plus.

If you want 512 to save money I get it but you know what’s better than 2 TB? 3 TB etc.
The Apple charge for a 1TB is pricey but I’d rather second guess not getting a 2TB than not getting a 1TB. 1TB gives me more wiggle room.
My old music production computer a mid 2011 iMac 27 had 1TB internal.
I can’t go lower than that. Either the same or more internal space.

My system drive is 512GB and I run Logic Pro X but I've organized my space-taking samples on additional drives…either by directing the software there by preferences or by using symbolic links on my system drive that point to the folders on the other drives.
