A few had questions about this and I am here to report that it is working fine. I was not able to get Boot Camp running due to Windows install fail. Seems there were too many partitions for Windows to handle it or something, but that is another thread.

I am running Parallels on the Vector, along with OSX of course, and I am extremely happy with boot times, and running speed/snappiness.

I am hoping the next mini has the new PCIe SSD but until then, I am extremely happy with this setup.

The Vector was upgraded to firmware 2.0. I had no issues with the previous firmware but figured it was a good time to upgrade as I was moving it from my previous Windows machine.

Which, BTW, Parallels migrated like a miracle, and I spend most of my time there. Also, an amazing thing, Parallels runs better with 1 core chosen. An improvement from the 4 cores I had allotted to Parallels.

What are your read/writes in the black magic app on the vector?

As it is your OS drive, try to shut everything running in the background to get a cleaner result.

I am interested to see if it trumps the 840 Pro. It is supposed to in benchmark tests.

I have not installed that yet. I basically do not pay much attention to the numbers. More of a "feeling" type of guy. There are so many variables I think that too much stock in the numbers will end up being inaccurate.

If I get a chance I will give it a whirl. One thing is I do know the difference between a fast drive and a slow drive as I have tried very many my first being an SLC 16GB drive. And many in between.

The Vector is definitely a nice snappy drive. I have not yet tried an 840pro. I have an 830 and the Vector "seems" faster than that.

I have the 830 as an external booter and running parallels on that is quite interesting. But definitely not as fast as the internal drive.

Opinio, here is a screenshot for you! It pretty much had them pegged at these speeds.
