Have you deleted photos? Deleted photos after 30 days don't show up but still take up space. You can set a previous date on iphone and check the deleted folder and clear it.

I don't have any deleted photos on my iPad. I disabled all types of photo sharing, so any on my iPhone should not be showing up on my iPad.

clean install. Possible some of the photos which you had in photostream may still be around in a cache in the background. or maybe your storage space prediction is just buggy. wouldnt worry about it too much unless you have the 16gb lol

Manually set the date and time back a year to 2015, then check your deleted photos again. This happened to me where there were a ton of deleted photos that didn't show up unless I changed the date back.

I had that bug too. When I was on 8.4.1, it showed 200mb of photos and videos. I went to the icloud storage, disabled everything related to photos, checked the icloud storage and deleted all the photos. It says that after 30 days all the photos and videos will be permanently deleted to you can t do anything about it just wait 30 days. After 30 days, re enable icloud photo library and you'll see that you re bug free.

Do you use iCloud Photo Library? If so, then you are encountering an issue similar to mine. They are your deleted photos that haven't been deleted from the cloud. You can find these "deleted" photos if you have iCloud Photo Library for Mac and go into the Photo's Libeary folder and go into "masters".
