how much can i sell my ati radeon 5870 for since no efi boot screen. Or just keep using it the only problem is no efi boot screen. Also i have a 5770 that came with my mac. That one works with no problem. I was thinking of buying the video card from apple. Or is there another video card that works.

I would just use your 5870, seeing as you paid a premium for it already. It is still the best ATI card around, only beaten by the 6970 and 6990. You don't need the boot screen for anything anyway.

I agree with gully.

Even if you ever actually need a boot screen, just switch out gpus temporarily. I just keep my OG GPU in my Mac Pro - all I would have to do is swap the cable from one GPU to the other and I've got EFI boot screen.

You are right. i am just making a big deal i guess since i paid a good money for that dang system. I am not that dissapointed anyways. Also you mention other video cards. Will i be in the same situation with other video cards you mention no efi boot screen

and the HD5970 of course, being two 5870 GPUs on one PCB, just as the HD6990 is two HD6970 GPUs
