iPod 5G iPod not updating?

I don't know whether this is an iTunes issues or an iPod, but I suspect it's an iPod, since this iPod is so old (2008). I primarily use it to listen to audiobooks. My most recent downloads from audible show up in iTunes but when I sync to my iPod, it says it's syncing, but the new books don't show up.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Have you tried restarting the iPod? Hold down both the centre button and Menu until it restarts.
