iPod 5G iPod syncing and disconnecting question...

I have a 5G iPod which is set to automatically sync with my iTunes library.

Here's my question- I have to manually eject it every time- yet it occurred to me that I should only have to do that if it's set to 'manually manage music and videos'- which it isn't.

Am I missing something?

have you set your ipod to enable disk mode? if so, it requires a manual eject
