Hi everyone, the new ipod classic looks good but far from perfect, I find myself still prefer my 5G 60g white (real classical) ipod to the new metal design, but new 160g capacity is nice, since the new ipod do not compatible withmy purchased itunesgame and my AV cable, should I buy a new one just for the increased memory and new interface, I am not sure if it worth the money, and my 1G nano did a good job if I using it outdoor because of its size, but if I replace it with new ipod touch(which have the capacity to surf the internet and bigger screen), its 16g flash will be a problem for the video(thst's a majorreason goes to a bigger screen), so a 160g ipod touch will solve all problems, looks apple still not sure to drop its classical ipod design which winnedits current competitive advantage, but this made its current ipod lineup a little bit messy!!BTW, who designed new nano, he was send to apple by microsoft zune PR!! Sum up: imagine myself using a ipod touch to do everything i want with big touch screen and on the go email and website viewing, nice, but if i want to hold everything i had i have to buy a 160g classic, surely their functionality are serious overlapped!

If you don't mind giving up some of the flashy UI of the classic, I'd say go with the 5G iPod. The classic is nice but it lags and isn't always as fast or responsive as I'd like. The click wheel is kinda eh at times.

I'm not unhappy with my iPod classic, just not as happy as I was with my 5G.

I would keep your 5G iPod and also buy the ipod Touch. There is no point in buying the Classic as your needs are pretty much met by your existing iPod and it really offers nothing new other than a new casing (which you don't like) and a new interface (which you will get on the Touch). Get the touch and you have the best of both worlds (and will be envied greatly by a huge majority).

Use iPod Hack

Using iPod hack, you can make your iPod video look pretty close to exactly like the iPod classic. There's really no need to spend a lot of money buying the iPod classic unless you can't live without the memory. A link how to transform the iPod video to the iPod classic is here:http://kenmc.com/2007/10/16/ipod-hack-–-ipod-video-becomes-ipod-classic-how-to/ So I say you do that. Of course the iPod touch is incredibly nice, and there are little to no problems with it, but there is so little storage space it makes me want to scream. The 1st generation iPod touch is also buggy and slow sometimes, but I'm not sure if its the same way with the second generation. In a nutshell: If you don't need the 160gb and you like your current iPod, use iPod Hack. EDIT: Whoa nevermind this was 2 years ago =[
