I have a 1G nano that has finally pretty much crapped out on me, and I thought I might give the new 5G nano a look.

One oddity that I don't see mentioned in Apple's product literature.... are videos/movies downloaded from the iTunes store playable on this ipod?

I would think so, but that there's a ton of stuff mentioned about the 5G's video capabilities, but no mention of the itunes store movies might not be a coincidence!

Can anyone please verify?

Thanks!

Yeah, it can. It's been able to 'legally' from the 3rd generation. You could hack earlier ones, but i think that they just assume that you know it can play videos?

I know it can play videos... I mean can it play DRMed videos you pruchae from the itunes store. Even that URL you gave doesn't say it can play videos purchased from the itunes store. It says it can "grow" your collection, of course, but it doesn't say "sync itunes store videos".

I hope you can understand my paranoia since they don't even document the video playback capabilities of the 5G ipod like they do the touch and iPhone in the tech specs area.

Yes, it can play iTunes Store movies. In fact, I think Apple would really like for you to buy the movies from the iTunes Store -- if for no other reason than they get some more of your money.

Cool. Thanks to you both!
