5k late 2014 SSD UPGRADE

Worked like a charm, but…. Despite self grounding I apparently shot the GPU?? I replaced the monitor cable, same issue…

any thoughts?

GPU seems fine (produces an image). More likely the problem is with the connection to the backlight or LCD display?

You have killed the LCD panel.
Replace it.

Such are the hazards of "doing it yourself".
It would have been much less trouble to plug in an EXTERNAL USB3 SSD and use that instead...
