5K Retina iMac VS 6 Core New Mac Pro 4K Video Editing Comparison - Final Cut / Prem

Someone should make a clip-on baking rack for the top of the iMac...you can toast your bread or reheat pizza using the exhausted heat from the iMac. :)

I finally got to doing some testing between my old Imac 2012 680MX 24GB ram and my new mac pro base unit.

The big difference is in scanning videos in the time line stored on my external raid 5 drive. When I scan from the FCPX timeline, the old imac process the videos from the same external drive at about 3 fps. The new mac pro scans at 40 to 60 fps.

The Imac scans in the internal drive at about 40 to 60 FPs, but it is on the external TB2 drive that there is a huge difference.

How is the Raid 5 box connected to the 2012 iMac when testing (and getting only 3 fps)?
