5th Ave Store - really waiting in line? What's that mean?

This may be tacky, I’m not used to the etiquette when one stands in line, but this struck me as odd.

One of the first guys in line Monday is of course running a blog – seems like a decent bloke so this isn’t a stab at him, anyhow, he’s also doing it in part for charity – which I think is cool. Now to the odd part – he said one of the folks from the charity came over when they heard he needed a cell charger and within minutes he was on a bus headed to buy one. Ok, so he left to go shopping and is coming back?

Then he says he needs to spend some time with his folks in Jersey and get some decent sleep tonight so he’ll be gone for part of the night.

Ok – is he in line or not?

With that kind of schedule, I’m in line at 4 stores right now – I’ll be dropping by again after work, then I’ll go home for a dinner and sleep, then I’ll come back tomorrow.

I thought if you were in line, you were in line – maybe you got to leave for bathroom breaks and such, but not longer than like ½ hour.

Am I missing the point of being in line???

How the hell can you wait in four lines at the same time?????? you make no sense. I went there today and talked to the guy, his name is Greg Packer. I ended up buying him 2 hot dogs and a pepsi. He does occasionally take breaks to shower, piss, etc.

Wait...he went HOME? No no no no no no no no no no....

I don't care how many people on the new knows he was first, once you are out of line for more than 30 mins, your spot is up for grabs...Since when can you go home!?

He didnt go home, there is a hotel that has agreed to let him shower.

I think you misread his point. He's saying the guy actually went home despite claiming to still be in line.

I'm not sure what the web address is for his blog, so I don't know if he did go home or not, but if he did, then he is definitely not standing in line! My idea of standing in line is not leaving that spot (except for bathroom/food/drink) until you get your much desired product...

It's not the first guy - it's the second or third one.

And the standing in line in 4 stores was a joke - I can run by several on my way home and "say" I'm in line.

this sounds like an episode of curb your enrthusiasm. this guy steps outa line for over 30 mins he should be done. wheres larry david when you need him? :eek:

wanna know what I think? not fair he's cheating I hope he goes in the store buys his iPhone walks up the spiral glass staircase out onto 5th ave and trips forcing to to knock his brand new iPhone outa his hands and the phone gets run over by a double decker tour buss.

Im just jealous that I have to work friday night and I cant wait myself
