Hi all!

I went to apple store today and I asked same question to a specialist.
unfortunately, he have no idea about that. (but he was interested in my Q)

so I'm asking here.

Is that possible 5th Gen iPod nano using as an iSight ?

I have the 5th gen nano (got it today-- it's supahsweet). Let's see if iChat recognizes it as a second camera. Launching... going to Preferences > Audio/Video as recommended by Help.

Nope, it's not recognized as a iSight-type video input. My educated guess is that you're out of luck.

I have to admit that it would've been a neat workaround for older Macs. :D

Ouch.. that's so sad :(

but thanks for your helpful answer!

Who knows? Maybe a firmware update will allow this functionality at some point. If Apple did this, there would be a worldwide rush on the nanos, and they'd make money hand over fist.

hopefully :) and I'm going to buy an iPod nano anyway :D
It's so cute as well as powerful IMO.
I think video cam is really cool though !
