I know the 6,1 design is still pretty controversial. I've personally used all generations of MacPro as daily drivers including the 7,1. While I love the 7,1 at work, I adore my compact 6,1 at home. The design has really aged well with me. I've gone 360 on this because I had a 6,1 for a few years at work which suffered the d700 failure and render issues 3 times causing apple to trade me a brand new iMac Pro to get me out of their store...these days...I'm lovin' it.
With the recent ARM announcement, I couldn't help but imagine the 6,1 as an ARM Mac with a single graphics chip. With how well the A12 has been performing on the iPad Pro with passive cooling, it certainly makes me wonder how a desktop grade chip would run inside the thermal chimney of active cooled 6,1. Anyone else poked their brain with this?
And yes...I know this isn't going to happen in real life, no need to bother commenting about that!
