Only benefit for the old iPhone 6 case is the grippier leather and lower lip profile (since iPhone 6 is slightly thinner). Besides that iPhone 6s case has more of a genuine smooth luxury leather feel, and seems to be more durable with wear and tear.

Lower lip really helps when you're using swipe gestures or 3D Touch multitasking swipe, it's much easier to invoke.
