As stated in the keynote, the iPad will be available worldwide in 60 days, but for now it's just for a handful of countries? What happened?

While the 60 day release has slipped, the worldwide nature of it hasn't. Japan, Canada, UK, Australia etc. Seems pretty worldwide to me, Steve never mentioned every single country across the world. I guess it depends what you infer from 'worldwide'.

Pretty world-wide? LOL;

Sure, world wide if you live in one of these countries, but if you’re one of the 75% of the world's population who don't you may view it a little differently.

Mind you here in New Zealand we got the 3G first in the world, so I can't really expect the same with the pad.

Plus the cooling off time from the initial release may help me come to my senses that in reality the pad brings nothing to my life that I don't already have.

I merely meant that Apple was still satisfying the term World-wide by initially shipping to those countries i.e. it's not just Europe availability or Asian availability. The countries are world-wide but ah well, doesn't matter really. Unlucky about not getting the iPad from day one. :eek:
