I don't know what to make of this. When you put your serial number in on this site it tells you details about it. All iPhone 3gs' are 600 MHz except mine. Mine says 620MHz. Have I got a special iPhone or something?

I'd be willing to bet that the CPU speed you're seeing was provided by someone else who was just guessing via the form at the bottom of the results page you see after entering your serial number:
