Title.

I assume it probably isn't, but just curious if anyone has heard/seen one in store. This is the only BTO option I'd be adding to the 27" model. My local store must be swamped, as I can't get through on their phone line.

Thanks.

from what I have read from people who went to the stores .. the 3.4 i7 is there but everything else is standard .. 1gb gpu

That was my fear. Anyone else heard differently?

Or maybe other input on the 1GB vs 2GB debate.

I called two of my local Apple retailers and was told both times that they do not carry the 2GB GPU in stores, your location may vary though.

I'm right on the edge between the 1GB and 2GB. I know the difference is quite negligible without running multiple displays, at least at this point. I've read a few threads on the subject, and even though it is a very cheap upgrade, not sure if I'll even notice it in the long run. Thoughts?

Was told by both stores in the St Louis area, that while they had I7's they were only 1GB video and that the 2GB video is special order only.

Yes, I also called both central London stores today to see if I could configure to 2GB and pick up later, they said "online only"

I have ordered and they have given delivery date as May 11th

I also was undecided about the upgrade to 2GB but as the cost was small compared to the overall cost I decided to go for it, hoping that it will be my main desktop for a few years.

Not that it would help you but the Toronto Eaton Center apple store had 2GB models. So it may depend on your area.

Thank you.

Unless you're throwing on anti-aliasing and multisampling at ridiculous levels, I sincerely doubt you'll notice much of a difference at all. :)

Checked my local store. They did not have the 2GB version, but I picked up the 1GB anyway. :)

Jeepguy, eaton centre does not have 2gb models. I went down there myself and they don't.
