How much virtual memory does your system use under normal computing? I've just gotten back for summer, and am using my old powerbook which my mom now has. I am doing minor things such as Adium and firefox. It is using 6GB of virtual memory! This seems like a lot more then it should be...makes me not question getting 4GB of RAM in my soon to have MBP. (You can check VM usage under activity monitor)

As far as I know, OS X won't "empty" the VM files unless your drive is full. There is likely stuff in your VM that you don't even have running anymore.

Anyway, to answer your question, 9.63 GB after 44 hours' use.
