i purchased a used cracked Apple Watch series 2 38mm. Changed screen with iCloud locked same model watch. Went perfect. Turned right on still displaying previous owners texts and such. I did a reset of the watch and now my iPhone 6s Plus says it’s paired and immediately starts to unpair giving a message that iPhone was unable to pair with watch. I’ve tried everything I’ve seen suggested. Wiped my iPhone, turned off iCloud, selected Chinese as language. What could it be? What else can I do. I don’t live near an apple store nor can I afford to send it in for repair.

I assume the iphone you're using is updated to an iOS version capable of working with the wOS version in your watch?

If yes, can you perhaps find another iphone to try pairing your watch with?

If I had to guess, something is wrong with iCloud that is preventing the watch from pairing appropriately with the iPhone. I would contact Apple technical support directly in your situation, being that it was iCloud locked at one point.

Thanks I will call in the morning. Hope they can help.

I do not know the Wos version but I’m on 11.4. I have not been able to figure it out. I assume it’s right I am not getting any error about that. I tried pairing to someone else’s who has installed 11.2.4 and I got an error message about the iOS not working with the Apple Watch. They would not install any updates so I could not test any further.

You said that when you replaced the screen and turned it on, it was displaying the previous person's info. The person you bought it from didn't properly unpair the watch from their phone. It is locked to their iCloud and you won't be able to pair it until it's removed from their account. Ask the person to log on to their account on iCloud.com and remove the device from Find My iPhone. I had the same scenario but I was the one selling the watch. Those are the steps I had to take.

Thanks I called Apple and they said it’s not linked to anyone but Is it possible that it is still somehow in the persons account? I don’t get an iCloud message at all. The seller said she had removed it from iCloud. Is there somewhere else it might be linked like the actual watch app on her iPhone?
