6S Touch ID: Too Fast to Glimpse Date on Lock Screen!

I love the touch ID on my iphone 6S, but, as others have complained, it takes me so instantly past my lock screen that I don't get to see the date. And I'm one of those people who never knows the date.

Is there any way to have the date appear atop my top nav bar (e.g. next to time), or in my wallpaper, so I don't need to crack open my calendar app every time I need to know today's date?

I could try to train myself to use a different finger when I want to view lock screen, but that's not a great solution...if I wasn't absent-minded, I wouldn't be forgetting the date!

Unfortunately not. But if you're using the stock calendar app it displays the date by default. The day of the month, anyway. Only useful if you keep it on the first home screen.

I just spotted a tip, elsewhere on the site, to awaken the phone via the on/off button rather than the home button when I want date.

That makes sense, as it shows you the locked screen.

As I've mentioned in another thread, if you "click" the home button extremely fast, it won't trigger Touch ID.

All of the above. Or use a knuckle, or the tip of the finger/fingernail to press the home button.

Try this: Instead of using your favourite finger pressing on the Home Button, Press then swipe - like you're trying to smudge your fingerprint. You don't need to change fingers, and no need to lift it off the phone either.
