I'm running Windows 7 on my MBP (Late 2006) and have installed the Boot Camp 2.1 drivers. Everything works, except for two-finger scrolling. It does scroll, but it's horrendous; a small two-finger slide results in no action, and a larger one makes it scroll almost uncontrollably. Has anyone managed to get scrolling working smoothly?

I had the same problems with the 2.0 drivers. Just set the scroll-wheel to only scroll 1 line at a time. I'd tell you where it is, but I have no idea where anything is anymore :D

That's made it a bit better but it's still nowhere near as smooth as in OS X. Is this likely to be a Windows issue or a driver issue?

Edit: By the way, it's in the Mouse control panel.

Speaking of editing, I've run into something else now: I'm in IE and I've gone to edit my post and the scrollbar is in the middle of the input box. Does that happen for you if you try to edit your posts too?

^ Both of the issues you mentioned happened to me. I foudn that if you click the little broken-piece-of-paper icon on the right side of the address bar it launches compatibility mode. Haven't tried the post editing part yet, but that compatibility mode might fix some issues. And... I found a Synaptics driver but not sure if I should mess up my perfect pristine Windows 7 installation with it... here's the link.

It's absolutely a driver issue. My Dell XPS 1330 is running the same build of 7 and the trackpad is completely fine. My Aluminum Macbook on the other hand isn't so lucky.

Compatibility mode fixes the editing issue for me, but I just wanted to check that someone else was having the same problem.

I'm a bit afraid of installing a new driver too!

It's pretty hopeless to get a good trackpad experience in Windows due to the poor drivers provided by Apple.

Yea, if you only knew what I went through to just get x64 to install... The regular ISO file has a bug in it, that gave me this error when I booted off the dvd to install:

1.
2.
Select cd-rom boot type:

<end>

So I installed 32-bit, and followed these instructions to get a working x64 disc. I had to copy the buggy x64 disc onto Windows, rebuild the ISO, and copy the fixed ISO file onto my dad's NTFS external HDD and burn another disc in OS X, using Disk Utility. And reinstall. After going through all that, I'm wary of screwing up my pristine, perfecting working (audio, bluetooth, all working, etc) Windows 7 installation.

I got the same error with the 64-bit release, but since Vista does it too I just figured that it was some incompatibility with the hardware in my MBP.

With the exception of the trackpad, the 32-bit version has been fine. All of the Boot Camp drivers installed without issues.

I had the same problem until I reinstalled the trackpad.exe driver.

I believe I also ran the driver in Vista compatibility mode and as administrator.

It's not a Windows 7 issue, it's a driver issue.

I am sure it is a dirver issue, as it runs very well when I use the mightly mouse.
