7448 bugs, kernel error. HEEELP!!! reward!

I have to use a modified Kernel for the 7448
its somewhat buggy, and I have to use 10.4.4
meaning, I am running a 7448 ppc cpu instead of a 7447a which is stock on the powerbook 1.67, mine is also clocked to 1.83 ghz.
utilized with 2gb ram.
the computer also doesnt recognize the 512kb extra L2 cache. its there, physically.

Problems are: Software hangups, bugs, packet losses are bigtime, unstable Airport with bad reception, can't close apps, or some apps, system can get highly unstable and performance can drop, it drops until it crashes. And performance is normal after hard-reboot... atleast for a while.
Screensaver freeze (hangup) the most frequent bug.
several errors that are unfixable in hard-drive/diagnostics repair or permission repair in the hard drive utility.

Pro Tools opens with tons of bugs and error messages, wont run at all.
unable to assign static IP, even if all is done right. Like I said, Airport and Ethernet is weird.

if I can come to think of more things I will let you know.

the system is ****ed... it is as buggy as an old amd running Windowns Millenium. it is HORRIBLE!!! :(

I attached the picture. just to confirm it. also, is there a way to flash it? or do something so it will work?

I can provide you logs from Console.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. And if help leads to 100% bug free osx enviroment, the help will be rewarded.

Teddy, I followed your install over at Daystar... I honestly think you wont find the technical info you need here. Cant Gary offer you some help?

The 7448 as you are well aware requires very specific kernel drivers and OS upgrades, many of which are NOT available from Apple. Daystar, Giga and PowerLogix probably each have 1 person who knows the answer to your question.

You're running a frankenstein POS with an overclocked CPU and some hacked kernel and you want us to tell you how to fix it?

Presumably there's a CPU upgrade company involved in this somewhere. I'd be talking to them....not us.

POS? whats that?

anyway.... like I said, I asked for help here.
cus the company cant fix it. I was wondering if anyone has the talent and craftmanship to fix it....?

is there a BIOS fix that can fix it? cus Freescale says its a 100% drop in replacement? so why wouldnt it or shouldnt it work?
doesnt OSX support it? can I contact Apple to put in a support for it?

POS=piece of *****

You could ask Apple, but I doubt they'd really care at all. If they didn't make the computer like that, then they don't have to support it.

Plus whats this talk of drop in replacement? Surely someone had to bust out a surface soldering iron during the "drop in" process.

Think about this situation.
1) You've bought a piece of hardware that Apple doesn't support and stuck it in your laptop.
2) You have problems (big surprise with unsupported hardware)
3) The company who manufactures the part apparently can't even help you.
4) You ask for help on an online forum.
5) Someone points out that you're probably SOL, and that purchasing a piece of unsupported hardware and dong a modification Apple doesn't even certify it's own technicians to do was a bit foolhardy and you may have slagged a nice piece of hardware.
6) ???
7) You go ape-sh*t and immediately commence with the dropping of the F-bombs, and the calling of the names..

At this point I see two futures Neo, the choice is yours.
a) The door on the right: You get into a stash of pills designed to aid chilling and roll slowers, and we have a civil chat about a fascinatingly unique problem
b) The door on the left: You let the frustration and madness in, continue hollering and find yourself banned, thrown outside where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Nowhere in macrumors law does it say we need to help you. And you're being super hypocritical, being as all your posts are about rumors or asking for help. Not did I see a SINGLE one where you helped someone. Yet you fully expect us to troubleshoot a machine nobody but you has? If you can't do it how in the hell are we supposed to?

EDIT: Looks like you got banned. Better luck next time.

hey ted what ever happened to your powerbook g4? I just looked at your specs from the slideshow and the 7448 only has a 1MB of L2 and zero L3 but it says yours has 2MB, that would make me think you have a 7457 inside your machine thats very very overclocked. What has Daystar said? It seems they and powerlogix posted press releases of use of the 7448 chips and then just dropped the 7448 altogether and now mostly use the 7447A for their upgrades.
