Anyone know if the 7800GT in the new G5s is the same as the off-the-shelf card that I can buy cheaper elsewhere, or if there are some mac-specific changes? If it's the same card as used in PCs, I might buy the stock dual 2.0 and add the 7800 myself...get it faster and cheaper.

Thats what I want to know because I already ordered my PM and I don't want to wait an additional 6-8 weeks just for adding the card onto it.

To my knowledge it's not possible to use the 7800 for PC's on any G5.

The 7800GTs I've seen for the PC appear to be much different cards.

I see the 7800GT back on the Oz Applestore for AUD595 = US445 , but the shipping for 2 and 2.3Ghz has gone back to 2-3 weeks whereas yesterday it was immediate or 2-3 days I believe.

7800 still not available in the UKstore. And if the off the shelf card won't do, guess it's just a question of waiting then...
