7970 Heaven results

Hi Guys n gals

I think my mind is made up on the 7950 Mac Edition, but just to be sure I would like anyone with a 7970 (pref a Hex core machine) to run the Heaven Benchmark for me on 1080p High quality mode?

Can anyone here help me out please? I have many bench results for the other cards in my list; but cannot seem to find one for the 7970.

Please do Heaven and Valley tests.

I'd like to compare those to my GTX660. I'm leaning towards an AMD card for OpenCL performance in FCPX, but gaming is also important to me.
 
I ran the HEAVEN benchmark at 1080p High (no other settings changed) on the 2010 in my sig. I have a flashed 7950 3Gb which has had the R17 resistor mod done.

Thanks - that should give everyone watching a baseline for the 7950 - Now waiting for the 7970 to come in :)
 
The fans are obviously full on but it is a subtle noise that fades into the background. I have the Sapphire 7950 Flex with Boost which has two large fans. I suspect the PCI bay fan was a little louder than the GPU fans since the hot air needed pushing out the back.

It is certainly less noticeable than the old 5870 fans! They whined.
 
This is really interesting, my GTX 660 scored

Exact same settings, and we both have the 2010 3.33 hex core, although I have 24GB of system ram.

Colour me impressed with the 7950. It seems it's drivers have come quite a ways since it's launch.
I'll keep an eye on the new AMD cards being announced in 21 hours, and decide on if I want a 7950 or 7970.
Personally I don't like the idea of running a card that needs more than 2 6pin power connections in my system.

My wife was also watching a Movie at the time via airplay to the Apple TV and I was ripping a DVD too. So..... I'll run it again when my mac isn't doing so many other things at the same time. :)

I did not hear the fans kick in.

Nice if its doing that while serving media etc.

That's in Windows after matured drivers, when the 7950 came out it barely had an improvement over the 5870, and was outperformed by the GTX680MX.

They really have sort it out, I spend quite a bit of time in FCP X lately, and the extra grunt of the 7950 in OpenCl would be very welcome.

It should be noted that my 660 is also an EVGA superclocked + card, so it's running well above normal 660 speeds.

For my particular OpenCL task, the 570 is NINE TIMES the speed of the 5870. Stunning. I really tried to optimize the heck out of it for the 5870, but I guess it's just more suited to the nVidia architecture of that time. (I wonder how it would run on GCN architecture.)

The scores are a little bit lower but the Min FPS has increased which is good. Not a major change but I wondered if anything might have altered with Mavericks.
 
Is there a way you would post unmodified preset results?

My 7950 Boost doesn't produce the same kind of results...
But then again there might be too many settings modified...

How about we all test at ultra windowed (maybe with tessellation disabled on the mac because its an humongous hit)?
 
One flashed HD 7970 on a 2010 Hex running OSX 10.9.1, Mountain Lion runs about 2 FPS faster.
