Yeah, it's the same form factor with an upgrade from A10 to A12.

Yeah, thankfully enough, the exterior casing hasn't changed whatsoever.

I have a feeling that this may be the last iPad to use that formfactor. The current iPad uses the Air/Air 2 design, so I could see the 9th gen iPad using the iPad Air design that just got shelved today.
