iPod 7th Gen EQ resets to off after power down

I am using my ipod with a usb connection in a car and every time I start the car after a few hours, the ipod eq has changed from my setting to off. Can I make the eq choice permanent?

Hmm, are you on the latest update? 1.0.2? That's a pretty weird bug.

Yes, software is up to date. When I use it with headphones it is fine and keeps the setting. I guess it has something to do with the communication between my stereo head unit and the device. The stereo does say it is compatible with the 7th gen. Do you think I should factory reset the ipod?

You could try that. I'm not sure it'll fix it, but it's worth a go.
