Okay question. I slacked on fixing my Jailbroken iphone 6 plus. I have 8.1.2 on my phone and deleted by mistake cydia. Now my battery life sucks and no cydia. So if i update i will be on 8.1.3 which can't be JB so what do i do? just run a fresh 8.1.3 till something comes along or keep this 8.1.2 without a cydia and a battery that drains fast

Let me know if you have ifile and I can help you thru it

But assuming you at least have ssh enabled and terminal on your phone

Use a computer to ssh into the iPhone and

type apt-get install cydia [enter]
su mobile -c uicache [enter]

Given that he\she "accidentally deleted cydia" (not sure how one would even do that lol), you're way over his\her head with this one.

My understanding is Apple is still signing 8.1.2, so it'd be better for him\her to just restore and start fresh, maybe it'll solve his battery issues.

Tho my recommendation to him is to read the instructions to restore to 8.1.2 before doing it.

Thanks for the help but nope i deleted a lot before cause of battery and screen flips. So i deleted 1 to many which took cydia away.

The only thing i got left is Safari download enabler and zeppelin and winterboard and statusHUD 2 and SB flip along with Intelliscreenx

So you see that is all i have left from jailbreak stuff since i was removing items to find the bad one. Then i lost cydia by doing 1 to many lol

So i just waited to long to redo it never thinking 8.1.3 was coming to fix JB.

I guess i just wait a few days and if not just go with 8.1.3 with Itunes and hope a JB comes along down the road i guess

Lol great point,

But it's not listed as an app.... Weird.... I guess stranger things have happened.

Now that i downloaded 8.1.2 and i know how to shift to select it can i get away with doing a update? will that kill the JB so i can re JB or do i have to do a restore? i did move all my pics and video's to my computer but i really hate to download all my bank accounts and games etc

Create a backup in iTunes then do the restore and shift select your ispw.. It will make your iPhone back to factory 8.1.2 no JB then restore from the last backup and re jailbreak...

Everything on your phone when you create a backup will be in the iTunes backup you created

So once restored to 8.1.2 then restore from your backup and then jailbreak

Well that's the way it works with a restore. You can do a backup\restore so most settings will come back, but most bank account apps, etc will have to be re-logged in and what not.

Care to share why do you still jailbreak? Personally, aside for speeding up animations or perhaps adding more toggles to CC, I don't find it useful anymore.

Thanks!

The ability to block ads in safari over wifi or cellular.

The ability to easily download files via safari and send any type of file attachment I want via email.

The ability to turn my phone into a full gaming console through my big screen TV via emulators + displayout + bluetooth controller.

The ability to customize my home screen in endless ways via springtime.

The ability to add useful customized toggles to control center.

The ability to tether without having to pay a ridiculous fee for data you've already paid for.

There are many more I haven't mention, and even if you were to say you personally wouldn't need them... I do.

Talk to me about the setup to display out. And what sort of Bluetooth game pad? Can PS3 controllers be made to work?

Most emulators have the option already available to scan for wii mote and PS3

And I just use my Apple TV with screen mirroring to play on the big screen although you can probly AirPlay to a smart tv (I don't have one)

waiting for a long time till they release 8.2 jailbreak.

How do you figure it'll be a long time?

8.0 - 1 day wait
8.0.1 - 1 day wait
8.0.2 - 1 day wait
8.1 - 1 day wait
8.1.1 - 1 day wait
8.1.2 - 1 day wait

Not saying that it'll be the same, but if I were you, I'd be betting on sooner rather than later using recent history as a guide. ;-)

I hope there will be a jailbreak beyond 8.1.2 soon. I'm there and JB'ed and love it but my iPhone 6 is bent (no clue how, always in a case) and local Apple store said they'd swap it out under warranty. Not going to do so at the cost of my JB.

Eh I'd swap if it's bent. 8.1.2 or lower seems likely

I got my wife a new iPhone 6 from AT&T today as a upgrade and was surprised it came wit 8.1.2 installed.

I'm going to go by the G bar and see what's on the replacement they offer me. If it's 8.1.2 I'll go through the hassle.
