iPhone 8/Plus 8+ owners - any going to the Xr?

Just wondering if anyone is making this change.

I returned my Max due to headache/eye strain issues, but I’m itching for something new and different - totally a sheep I know.

Anyway, I am considering the XR, but also considering just sticking with my 8+ (first time I will have ever NOT upgraded).

Curious how many 8+ owners will make the switch...

I'm keeping my 7 Plus at least one more year. In the end I decided to keep my telephoto lens and 401 ppi screen.

However, I'm still getting the XR... for my wife. It will be quite the upgrade for her, considering she has the 6s now, with the same 326 ppi pixel density for the screen, and also a single lens camera.

I would usually keep my iPhones 3 years anyway. If I had bought a new phone for myself this year, it would have been unusual, since it is only 2 years since the 7 Plus.

If I had just a one year-old phone (like your 8 Plus), I definitely would not have upgraded. Not sure the XR is an upgrade anyway. It's more of a cross-grade.

Coming from the 8+, I would have strongly considered the XR, but I use the 2x telephoto lense regularly and didn't want to lose that.

I experienced it within the first day. I adjusted the brightness, and tried with the True Tone on/off with it less bright both ways, etc. (I have True Tone on my 8+, so I know that isn’t an issue, but I just wanted to try various ways). I could look away for a few minutes and the achiness would go away, but as soon as I’d look back for a bit, it would return.

I was pretty bummed as I REALLY wanted that phone!

Unfortunately the screen is the same, so I’m sure I would experience the same issues with the eye strain/headaches.

I would keep the 8 plus, better screen, camera, no notch.
Unless you want FID and 1/5" bigger screen but will probably only be the same size as the 8 plus anyway.
Or a wiggle coloured phone
