I've struggled to put the case on and off on my 8 Plus and I'm wondering if I bent it when doing this. When laying flat on a table, the middle arches up slightly. Does anyone have a picture of the side of their 8 plus laying flat on a table?

Thanks

That seems like that would be difficult to do With the Glass, but another member bent the aluminum before on the iPhone 6s/7 trying to remove a case in the past. What type of case were you trying to remove?

It's one of those clear hard cases with a tpu bumper. I had a iPad Pro a while back and remember it had somewhat of the same arch in the middle so wondering if it's normal and if anyone here had a picture of their 8 plus laying flat on a table.

Is the reason why a lot of cases on the 8 plus are so hard to get on and off because it's slightly larger than the 7 plus and most cases for the 8 plus are actually built for the 7 plus?

The reason the case was likely more difficult to remove is because its slightly thicker with the glass with the iPhone 8 Plus at 7.5 MM over the 7 Plus at 7.3 MM.

The 8 plus is also longer. Are there any good cases that are built specifically for the 8 plus? I'm looking for a clear one.

I don’t think it’s actually possible to bend the 8 plus. The glass will crack. Having said that, there might be some flexibility in the type of glass being used but knowing how sturdy the build is, I still think it’s pretty unlikely.

I’d imagine it would be pretty hard given that there’s glass on both front and back, along with the metal skeleton, but yeah take a photo for us and let’s have a look. I think it would crack before it bends to any degree.

It will bend a good bit prior to the glass breaking. Many have bent their phone putting on or removing a case. Not uncommon.

Bending the 8 plus will require significant pressure. I wonder why people go through such effort to put on a cheap case.

I have purchased several cases for my 8+ and of course all the companies say, without hesitation that the 7+ cases work for the 8+ cases. No, not really, especially if they were already tight on the 7+... it can take some REAL work to get the cases to fit on the 8+. It is definitely a little thicker and longer.

The camera bump prevents a flat test but mine seems ok - the Sena Wallet case was difficult to put on but has adapted very well to the larger 8+ and is easy to take off/put on now. Definitely recommend caution with cases that claim 7+ and 8+ usage.

Like others in the thread have said - I doubt there is bending going on with the glass. I wouldn't worry bout that.
