I was hook both of my two of my macs for a fast backbone between them, and I noticed in profiler that the iMac support 800MB on the firewire port. All i need is a cable from firewire 400 to 800

Cool another apple gem

ok, quick question

If i bought a 4 bay miniG HD enclosure - which is FW 800 would i be able to use it (at FW400 speed) if i got a 800 to 400 cable?

Should be possible...;)

It maybe possible, the internal bus of the iMac core duo is 800Mhz, and it is untested weather you can get higher performance than 400, if i had an adatper i would try my self

I'm actually not worried about the 800 speed, im just worried about it working at all!

i need a way to connect a fair amount of storage to my mac that is fairly fast (doesnt need to be crzy speed)
