Hey folks,

I am a new and a little proud owner of a MBP Mid 2015 i7 2,5Ghz 15" and would like to know, which is the fastest and/or newest "Airport" card (I know, it won't be Airport anymore) I can put into it? Is there any chance of getting Wifi 6/6E and 802.11ax into it?

I am running Sonoma via OC, so the latest drivers whichever MacOSX might offer should be on board.

greetings
kmax

Apple started using the soldered-in chip instead of a standalone AirPort card roughly the same time when they introduced 802.11ax to their products.

I don't think there are any existing 802.11ax AirPort cards. In the Hackintosh community, 802.11ac cards like BCM94360 series are popular because those standalone cards can be extracted from various donor boards and used with a simple adapter. For the 11ax counterpart, I have yet to seen one.

Yeah, I thought so.
But as the possibilities with OC are a little more I hoped that there might be a driver-workaround for newer cards.
So the latest card is the Airport card with 11ac and BT 4.2?
