I would say the 8800 GS is equal or better or worse than the 2600XT in the MP, depending on what you are doing

I can't find the link but I have read this morning that the 8800 GS is about 10-15% slower than 8700 GT which means that it is about 60-65% faster than 2600 PRO.
There was a huge benchmark test in several games and applications and the above statement was editors conclusion.
