Anyone think we'll see iMacs with the ability to have and use 8GB of RAM in 2009? Currently the system is limited to 4gb of RAM.
 
Why would you want 8G of memory in an iMac? If you need that meomory to run applications you'd probably be well served to set up to a Mac Pro. Plus I feel the thread title is a little misleading. More like 'What are the prospects for 8G of memory in an iMac'. As it stands, it sound like you're making a speculative statement based on something you heard.

That's a very good point.

But some people just like the thought of pimping their computers.
 
I'd like to have 8GB of RAM in an iMac to process 24mp resolution images in addition to editing 1080p videos. Having it in an iMac keeps the clutter down ;)
